What makes the Rotak 43 LI battery so good?
The 36 volt/2.6Ah lithium-ion battery powers the Bosch Rotak 43 LI Ergoflex. Li-ion batteries are preferred to other batteries because:
• they don’t lose charge when stored, so they are ready all the time when you are
• they have the same amount of charge and power of conventional batteries, but only weigh half as much
• they can be recharged more times than normal batteries because they retain their charge capacity
• they can be fully recharged in 90 min, or charged up to 80% in as little as an hour
Also, the Bosch cordless mower range have an Efficient Energy Management (EEM) system to increase the mower running time. It does this by cutting non-vital electronics to keep the blade speed constant and recovering the kinetic energy from the blade run-down when the mower is turned off.

To help gardeners with back and joint problems, Bosch introduced of the ‘Ergoflex system’ to their Rotak 34/37/40/43 corded and Rotak 34LI/37LI/43LI cordless mowers at the beginning of 2011.
The Ergoflex system ensures years of trouble free mowing because it is characterised by a multi-position mower handle and an adjustable mower work height so that gardeners can relieve joint and back strain by mowing in an ergonomically correct position, without hunching. In addition, the user’s arms and hands are only slightly bent during mowing, thereby avoiding aliments like Carpal Tunnel and tennis elbow.
To save time and effort, Bosch has come up with unique grass combs that guide the grass directly towards the mowing blade so you can cut the grass up against a wall or tree.
The Bosch Rotak 43 LI ergoflex has powerful Powerdrive motor with a 43-centimetre cutting width and a large 50L grass catcher that is recommended for large lawn area’s. There are 10 height settings via a single lever with a height range of 20 mm to 70 mm. Rear roller also enable you to draw grass stripes on your lawn. Bought this mower in October 2011. Absolutely delighted with it, it is well designed and very pleasing to use. Easy to assemble, it took about 15mins.
Would definitely recommend this mower, although it is pricey I expect a good 10 years out of it, or I'll be on the phone to Bosch
I was appalled when I removed this thing from its box. It looked like a dinky toy. But having bought it I thought I ought at least to try it out. Wow! What an excellent machine. Lightweight, easy to manouevre, and very quiet to run. I really like it despite initial misgivings about its minimalist, toy, appearance.
After debating whether to get a smaller model we opted for this one and have not been disappointed. It took a little while to work out that the motor would cut out on uneven ground when the force against the blade became too much but apart from that everything else has worked flawlessly.
I got the Bosch mower early August 2011 and am delighted with it, even though the batteries dont last as long as I thought they would (16 minutes each if used lightly)
This lawnmower is very good. Delivers exactly what it says. Have only charged the batteries twice so not on full charge yet but you get 2 batteries in the box and between them there is more than enough to clear my 300approx sq meters. Not having to hassle with cables is excellent.
Have only used it once but it is exactly what I hoped for. Light & easy to manouvre. Much quieter and lighter than an equivalent petrol mower.
